Hi! My name is Mia, and my dream has always been to play in the AFL Women’s.

I live and breathe AFL and spend most of my time at my home club, the Southport Sharks, training, playing and volunteering.

Over the past few years, I have been putting everything I have into reaching my goal of attending the School Sport Australia National Championships. After progressing through a series of trials held at district, regional and then state level, last week all of my hard work, determination and passion paid off when I was selected as a representative for the state of QLD in the Queensland Representative School Sport championship competition held in August this year, for the girls AFL U12 team. This experience has provided me with the opportunity to build my on-field leadership skills, resilience and teamwork within a sport I love.

To compete in this this tournament, I am required to travel interstate to Albury, Regional NSW, and spend one week playing against many other competitors from all across Australia in this nation-wide event. I am looking for some financial assistance to help cover the costs that are associated with this prestigious competition.
