Why?
Because 2.6 million people in Australia have an ongoing, 12 month mental health disorder, and we want to help them. Our mission is to reach those who are struggling and create meaningful impact on the mental health of Australians.
Starting on September 7th in Cairns and finishing on December 15th in Melbourne, we’ll be travelling through some of Australia’s smallest towns and biggest cities with the goal of getting as many people involved as possible along the way. Whether that’s running with us for 1km, 10km or 100km, coming down to support on the side of the road or flipping snags on the barbie.
The rest of the team will each be taking on their own unique challenge across the 100 days as they support Jack. Our boy Chuck will be running 50km every day for 100 days, The Clumsy Riding Man will be riding 100km every day on the support bike and Louie the Weapon will be running 42 marathons across 42 days, each day taking someone new with him and sharing their story.
Our aim is to raise $430,000 to reflect the almost 43% of Australian’s struggling.
The funds raised will be used by Miles4Smiles Mental Health Organisation to run targeted connection and early intervention programs to help as many people as possible to enjoy positive physical and mental health. This may include Community Events, Physical Challenges (including Miles4Smiles 100 X 100) , Catch Ups, Physical and Mental Wellbeing Therapy, Meaningful Presentations and Workshops to Schools, Sporting Clubs and Community Groups.
This challenge will be powered by No Timid Souls.
