Donations to the Thunder Foundation help ensure the sustainability of these influential community initiatives.
The Thunder Assist program provides support to the local cricket community by offering grants for Clubs and aiding Clubs during crisis or hardship with cricket gear, merchandise and financial support.
Thunder Abroad is a global, community connection where Sydney Thunder helps drive real, social change in overseas communities. By providing cricket gear and uniform we are inspiring girls and boys around the world to participate in cricket.
Clubs can support the Thunder Abroad initiative by donating used cricket gear and uniform to the Thunder Foundation.
Thunder Leadership Program
The Thunder Leadership Program is a 4-week program delivered to high school students across western Sydney and regional NSW. Using Sydney Thunder players as key ambassadors and role models, the program engages and inspires youth to connect with their community and establish a strong sense of belonging, while developing their self-confidence.
Thunder Scholarships supports the development of regional cricketers, by providing an avenue to join the player pathway. Sydney Thunder annually hosts the Thunder Regional Rookie trials, where a female and male player are selected to join the Women’s Big Bash League and Big Bash League squads throughout the season.
