The New South Wales Union of Rowers aims to perpetuate the highest traditions of sportsmanship within the rowing community; foster, improve and perpetuate the sport of rowing and sculling. The most significant activity of the Union of Rowers is the ongoing support given to promising young athletes each year through scholarships of $1000 each. One hundred and thirty nine of these scholarships have been awarded since 1992. Many of the awardees have gone on to represent NSW and Australia in competition.
