Why This Trip Means So Much

I have been competing in Cheerleading for 4 years with this being my 5^th year. I have competed in competitive cheer only. I have competed in   various competitions in QLD & Victoria. Last year I travelled to Orlando to compete in a special bid (Summit Bid – Only handed to 3 QLD teams – 2 which were my club & I competed in both) that was awarded to my club Alpha Athletics. We placed 17^{th &}   19^th in the world. I was so proud to be part of the summit team.

I travelled to Australia with my family when I was 8 months old from Ireland, I am now 14. As soon as I was 2.5 years old, I was dancing in Gladstone. At the age of 3 I took up Gymnastics in Gladstone. We had to move soon after to Greenbank.

There I joined Jimboomba Gymnastics for 2 years, I then joined rhythmic Jimboomba for 1 year. I then joined Sumner gymnastics. I competed at a competitive level for each gym. I have placed 1^st to 3^rd in various competitions.

4 years ago, I joined Fad Logan West, I have always wanted to compete in Cheer and my dream came through when I completed a try out and I was accepted, I entered as a competitive cheer leader. I completed in 2 cheer teams each year with last year being an exception where I competed in 3 plus 4 dance classes, a solo & a duo. , all receiving 1^st & 2^nd paces in competitions in QLD.

Two years after Fad Logan west sold, I joined Alpha Athletics in Crestmead , I have grown from strength to strength, I now compete in a level 4 team & a level 3 team, I have based, been a flyer & a back spot. On a normal week I train 8 hours of cheer plus 4 hours of Dance. We complete choreography weekends which can be 16 hours on a weekend.

When I competed for summit, I trained 8 hours every Sunday for 6 months, gave up my weekends also to train. I loved every minute of it knowing I was competing in such a special event. 

Team Australia means - It feels like I am bringing a piece of home to life on the international stage.

This is an opportunity to share Australian values, traditions and humour to other cultures.

I will be attending 3 camps before I leave for America to train with all the Team Australia members. I will train each Saturday until we depart.

My Family support has helped me achieve incredible milestones, and now they are rallying behinds me to take this next step. The trip to America is more than just a trip - It is the next chapter in my cheer story. I am hoping the community will rally round to make this dream a reality.

The tour comes with huge costs, totalling over $10,000 , flights, accommodation, camp, meals, training gear, Australia Uniform. While my family have supported me every step of the way, they need your help to make this dream reality.
