I am Nicholas Andrews, an Australian sprint hurdler. I am currently ranked 57th in world rankings and 6th all time fastest Australian in the 110m Hurdles event. I run with Phoenix Track club since 2020 where I am coached by Tim O’Neil. Under his guidance I have improved my domestic and world rankings, gained selection to Australian national teams, achieved 3 national medals and culminated in selection to compete for Australia at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade.
My intentions towards the 2024 Paris Olympics are to compete at all major championships to improve my performance whilst putting myself in the best position for selection onto the Australian Team. To maintain or improve my world ranking necessitates competing in both the Australian domestic season and athletics overseas due to limited competition opportunities. Having narrowly missed selection for the Tokyo Olympics, I believe I am on the cusp of attaining my goals.
Currently my training year consists of 3 months hands on inPhoenix (US) and 9 months correspondence from a Sydney base. Training with the Phoenix Team allows me to train at the highest level, affords me the opportunity to train amongst some of the world’s best hurdlers and has been instrumental in the improvement of my personal best times.
Any donation supporting my Olympics campaign is greatly appreciated and will exclusively fund overseas living expenses and competition costs, coaching fees, travel between competition and running equipment. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation.
Thanks for your support and that of the athletics community.
