My name is Nicholas Timmings, I was born and grew up in Perth, Western Australia and compete in a Winter Olympic sport called Skeleton.

Skeleton is an Ice racing sport in which the athlete sprints at the start, hurls themselves onto a small thin sled, then has to navigate and steer the corners down an ice track to get the fastest finish time possible. We have the ability to get speeds of up to 145km/h.

I represented Australia at the 2022 Winter Olympics and my goal is to qualify and compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.

Due to the lack of training and competition facilities in the southern hemisphere, I spend 5-6 months each year training overseas at my own expense. With a severe lack of government support, I am seeking support to help cover the costs of attending the competitions essential for qualifying for the 2026 Olympics.

With only $1,200 in guaranteed funding from the Australian government and various sporting bodies, I find myself under considerable stress and pressure. The rising cost of living makes it increasingly difficult to balance two jobs while aiming to save the $35,000 I need per year to compete on the world stage.

The purpose of this campaign is to secure funds to allow me to cover some costs of competing on the World Cup circuit, World Championships and next year's Olympic qualifying events.

This will allow me to get myself in the best possible position to Qualify and Compete at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
