In April 2021, the town of Northampton and surrounding areas of Kalbarri were hit wit a devastating cyclone. The cyclone decimated the small town with houses, businesses and farms being destroyed. The local sporting clubs and community sporting facilities were also ruined.

The local sporting clubs and facilities provide an important community hub for the small town, especially the children, allowing families to regain some normality and support their mental and physical health. Unfortunately, with the amount of damage received, the council, the clubs and the people aren't able to fund the recovery of these vital community grounds.

Thanks to a generous group of donors and coordination of both the Shire of Northampton, Northampton AFL and the WAFC, a WAFL community event match will be played in Northampton to provide a much needed economic and morale boost to surrounding communities.

All monies raised will go towards the rebuilding of the community oval, its surrounding facilities and game day support to get it up to a standard for WAFL to play on but also its longevity for continued community use.

This will include extending that support to local schools to run programs using the upgraded facilities
