The Vision

There was a lot of love for this project, when we shared our vision with our Cougars community at our recent Presentation Day. 

Get behind us now with a tax-deductible donation and let's make this jumper a reality. We seek to raise $15,000 by 31 October, in time to place the order for players on all teams to wear this amazing jumper for the 2025 season and beyond.

The Design

The jumper design for NJFC was inspired by the yarns and co designing activity that took place at the club in August 2024.

All of the symbols on the jumper are important elements to the players and how they reflect and respect Aboriginal Culture and their Aboriginal families at the club.

·        The oval in the middle represents the club, the dots surrounding the oval are the supporters.

·        The lighter green lines streaming from the oval are the pathways that football provides the players.

·        To the top right of the jumper is Bunjil the Wedge Tail Eagle; he is soaring and caring for Land, Country and the players. This symbol is paying respects to the Wurundjeri people.

·        The sun above Bunjil represents hope and aspirations.

·        At the top left side are eucalyptus gum leaves to represent the landscape and area around the oval

·       The bottom left side of the jumper is a stream of elements:

• Clap sticks to represent the club song
• Footprint to represent the leadership, volunteers and families
• Football to represent the game
• Flowering wattle to represent the football season.

·       To the middle right side of the jumper is a connection symbol to highlight the connections to community that football provides

Throughout the artwork are streams and lines to depict journeys to learning, understanding and building knowledge of local Aboriginal people and Cultures.
