About the project

The Oakbank Golf Club is the second oldest golf club in South Australia, established in 1892, and is one of the founding members of the South Australian Golf Association (now Golf SA). The original 9 hole course was set up on the historic Oakbank Race Course, famous for its picnic race meetings over Easter, and which is located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, less than an hour from the city. In 1994, a new 9 hole, 18 tee, all weather flat course was established no more than a couple of long drives from the race course, and it currently serves the Hills Community, members from the local district and those from Adelaide who wish to be part of a very social club.

The irrigation upgrade should enhance the playing conditions at OGC and substantially reduce the demand on volunteers: a great initiative!
