About the Oakleigh District Football Club

The existing Scoreboard is a hinged swivel panel, still in the 1981 ‘temporary’ position, located on the first floor of the ‘Juniors Room’, facing the oval, at the farthest Eastern end of the Amenity.  It is swiveled and manually adjusted for both Summer and Winter scoring.  Whilst it faces the oval, and is highly visible to the playing area, for the vast majority of patrons who congregate under the amenity, the Scoreboard is not visible.

Within our club's Works Program plan we have identified the opportunity to increase participation and retention through the relocation of the Scoreboard facility over to the North Eastern side of the Oval, ( adjacent to the existing Bocce courts ) which will then be :-

  • visible to all attending the amenity.
  • commensurate with the level of competitions the Club is engaged in.
  • appropriate for the standard of equivalent community-based Clubs.
  • an electronic scoreboard.

Studies clearly indicate that our younger club members gravitate toward current and accurate data projected via video screens along with an audio feature. Having the ability to provide both a visual and audio medium to communicate a range of game day messages will enable stronger engagement and ultimately advance participation levels resultant from overall club satisfaction.

Council have indicated that they are amenable to the relocation, however they have advised that the User (‘ the Club’ ) must also financially contribute to works. Hence we need to help ourselves to successfully deliver this project.

Please support the new electronic scoreboard by making a tax deductible donation today !
