Ever since I was a child, sport has always been a part of my life. Growing up I played many different sports and the common theme that has stuck around with me today is that I want to become an elite athlete. 

I play Flag Football at a National and International level. I represented Australia last year at the IFAF Asia-Oceania Flag Football Continental Championships in Malaysia, where Australia won the silver medal. From this competition I received a number of offers to Colleges in the United States to play Flag Football. However, there is still a substantial financial barrier hindering me to take up this incredible opportunity.

I strongly believe that attending a college in the U.S. would place me in the best position possible as an athlete to be selected at the Olympic Games for Flag Football in Los Angeles in 2028. My collegiate experience would enable me to be in peak physical condition and provide me with the knowledge and experience that I can’t get in Australia, giving me the best chance possible to be the ultimate teammate and athlete while simultaneously achieving my inherent childhood dream of become an elite athlete, playing at the highest level possible.

It would be an honour and a privilege to be able to attain the necessary funds to attend a College in America. This opportunity would not just have an enormous effect on me personally, but it also can be the start of something special for female Flag Football players in Australia, as I would be the first women’s collegiate player from Australia. Potentially making history and holding this responsibility is something that I will not take lightly, and I hope that this opportunity can inspire the next generation of female athletes coming through and create more opportunities for women and girls in Australia.
