NAIDOC Week is here!! 2025 theme is The Next Generation, Strength, Vision & Legacy. As a role model in sport for other First Nations Youth I hope my efforts create a legacy and that I can step into my aspiring leadership with my achievements and talk with other young mob on following their dreams, and make my ancestors proud too.
I am the first female Aboriginal Youth to achieve a National Competitive Climbing Title!!! That's a big deal for our people to be high achievers in other sports.
Thanks everyone for your support to date. After winning the 2025 Youth National Title for U17 Lead (female) I have been invited to compete in Lead Under 17 category at the World Youth Championships in Helsinki, Finland in August. This will be an honour to represent my country and my mob overseas. Because I am under 16 I have to take my mum with me. So this fundraiser is a big one because Europe is far and Helsinki is not really a budget destination. Sport is expensive - especially in under funded Olympic sports like Sport Climbing.
Please support my journey as a representative of our country and as an Aboriginal female athlete breaking into a new competitive sport
I am reaching out to the community for your support. It is more than just supporting me as an athlete. My presence and persistence in this sport increases representation and role modelling for Aboriginal Youth.
As a 2025 selected athlete for the National Youth Program I have 3 training camps with competition simulations set at international standards. This has made me realise much more training and coaching is required to reach a World level. If possible with fundraising I will travel to Europe earlier to train in Helsinki prior to the competition. They have set their nominated gyms with WYCC routes for athletes to train on.
Outside of the NYP training camps we are expected to maintain their own training with high performance coaches and strength & conditioning programs. Without this additional support I will be unprepared for international level competitions. This in itself is a costly outlay.
I can achieve this is with your help. Your support contributes to the development of shaping Australian climbers for a future in the Olympics.
This year (2025) I came first at the Nationals Youth titles for U17 female Lead and second for U17 female Boulder (the scoring system changed this year which meant I did not get first place - but I am glad my friend Mella came first she deserved it ). Last year in Australia I came second in Lead and Boulder for U17 female at the 2024 National Youth Climbing Titles. I was also the 2024 Qld Open Women's Boulder Champion. I competed in China in 2024 at The World Youth Championships and placed 31st in Boulder and 39th in Lead. In February I was selected with 4 other female athletes' by the National Youth Coach, Ire Torrelba to attend a training in Japan with their National Youth Climb Team in early February.
