About the project
What is the Passport to an Amazing Childhood?
The Nature Play QLD Passport is a small, hard copy booklet, similar to a real passport, that contains fun nature play missions, stickers and interactive pages. It’s used to document and celebrate the nature play missions and outdoor learning activities your children achieve. This booklet goes hand-in-hand with the Passport App, where you can find hundreds more nature play missions.
A child’s mission, should they choose to accept it, is to spend time outdoors, be adventurous, try new things, be brave, get messy and have fun! The missions can be completed by groups or individuals. But each child gets their own passport. It’s a tangible booklet and exciting nature play experience with interactive fields, dedicated missions and even stickers! Families and classrooms can complete the activities using just the booklets, or in conjunction with our free Nature Passport App that has over 100 activities to spark curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
Parents and teachers can order their Nature Play QLD Passports by simply visiting our website and filling out a simple order form. The booklet(s) will be posted directly to them by our distribution team - 100% free of charge.
The Nature Play Passport to an Amazing Childhood is all about getting Queensland kids (3 - 12+) to run, jump, climb, splash, invent, imagine, play and be a free-range kid.
Since 2014, the Nature Play QLD Passport to an Amazing Childhood has been distributed free of charge to over 600,000 Queensland children.
Families and educators actively assist children to carry out a diversity of fun outdoor “missions” at home and in the classroom using inspiration found in the Passport to an Amazing Childhood.
The key aim of the Passport to an Amazing Childhood program is to get more children physically active in the outdoors – leading to the development of physical literacy, while combatting childhood obesity and mental ill-health. The development of physical literacy in the early years has positive impacts on more participation in sports and other physical activity later in life.
