This project to improve the availability and distribution of water for our golf course, underpins our aspirations for enhancing the course and retaining its position as one of the premier golf courses in Australia, and is one of the major investments the Club has embarked on. 

In summary it involves increasing the Club’s capacity to harvest bore water, produce and store sufficient quality water to meet the course’s watering demands, and the installation of an efficient automated course irrigation system.

The projects brings many benefits to the Club including the efficient use of water resources, operational efficiencies with the distribution of water, an improvement in turf quality and playability, and future proofing the course in the event of prolonged drought conditions.

The first phase of the project involves commissioning two new bores, increasing water storage capacity and the installation of a course irrigation system. The second phase will involve the commissioning of an additional 4 bores.

The key metrics that the project will ultimately deliver includes:

·      Increasing the drawing capacity of bore water from 55 ML to 120 ML per annum.

·      Increasing desalinated water production from 35 ML to 60 ML per annum.

·      Increasing water available for irrigation from 60 ML to 100ML per annum.

·      Providing 100% water coverage of greens, green surrounds, fairways and tees.

·      Reducing the need to acquire mains water.
