Rail Trails Australia is a volunteer based, not-for-profit organisation which works for the development and promotion of a rail trail network Australia-wide. Our website provides free comprehensive up-to-date descriptions of all rail trails in Australia, which promotes the concept of rail trails and facilitate their use. Our aim is to develop rail trails so the wider community can use them for a broad scope of physical activity including bike riding, hiking, walking, running and horse riding while protecting the heritage of the trails.

Rail Trails Australia receives no government funding and relies on sales from products and donations from supporters to carry out our work.

We need your support to continue our volunteer work to advocate for rail trail developments and to support our local councils, community and friends groups to develop and improve our wonderful rail trails and get more people out using rail trails.

We are very grateful for the support we have received to date, but we need to achieve our funding target to complete all desired operational, marketing, promotion and increased functionality for the website.
