She will enter the women’s Australian Outback training camp a week prior to on the 21st of July at the Sydney Academy of Sports.
We are asking for your help to support Rebecca with this wonderful opportunity and honour.
Rebecca’s Journey
Rebecca began playing gridiron in 2016 and was quickly nominated to play in the 2017 World Cup, however she declined her position at the time to continue her education and pursue competition in the USA.
In her 2016 season she became team captain, Defensive MVP, and Team MVP and lead the team in point scoring and tackles.
In 2018, after undergoing her first ACL reconstruction, Rebecca travelled to Lawrence Kansas on one year’s student exchange and played for the Omaha Heart LFL team.
Rebecca studied 16 and 18 units in each semester and travelled three hours each way of a weekend to practice with the Omaha team.
Upon returning home in 2019, Rebecca became co-captain of the inaugural Central Coasts Sharks Women’s Gridiron Team.
Rebecca has always been and continues to be exceptionally determined and hard working in pursuit of her goals. Prior to her gridiron career, Rebecca won back-to-back WFF Junior Miss Universe titles as a bodybuilding figure competitor in 2015 & 2016 whilst studying and working to support her sporting pursuits.
In 2022, Rebecca has recovered from another ACL reconstruction, and is a member of the Hunter Wildfires Women’s Rugby Union Team, who compete in the Jack Scott Cup, which begins on April 30th. She is also, a squad member of the NSW Coyotes Women’s Gridiron Team that will play against Victoria on the 12th of June.
Rebecca holds two professional roles as a research assistant at The Australian Centre for Clinical & Cannabinoid Research Excellence (ACRE), and The Lambert Initiative. In both roles she operates within the Analytical Laboratory in support of Clinical Trials, product analysis, method development, and quality testing.
Rebecca is balancing both roles concurrently by commuting between ACRE in Newcastle and Lambert in Sydney, via her home on the Central Coast. As demonstrated in her sport, Rebecca is dedicated to her work and her career, and is incredibly grateful for her employers and colleagues; their patience and understanding; and allowing her the flexibility to continue her career whilst aligning her sporting goals.
Your support
For the first time on her journey, Rebecca is reaching out to her friends and supporters to ask if we may be able to aid Rebecca in representing Australia, and maintaining her high level of commitment to both her sporting career and professional career.
Your support will contribute to her international travel; accommodation; insurance, and the cost of National camp. Your contributions will also help Rebecca cover the costs of equipment, including her Australian Outback Helmet and Uniform.
Rebecca is so excited to represent her country, and is so appreciative and thankful for all donations made on her behalf.
