Redfern Youth Connect (RYC) is a grassroots majority Aboriginal community-controlled not-for-profit charity youth organisation. RYC was founded in 2015 by two local community members Margaret and Solomon Haumono. Margaret and Solomon used their own modest incomes to establish a youth drop-in service and the popularity of the service has grown exponentially ever since.

We currently support over 250 young people from 93 local families in our area.

RYC is seeking contributions to help us continue to dedicate our mission to supporting the local youth and their communities in making a positive difference in their lives through Fitness and Education.

Our Organisation is preparing to open an historic Aboriginal Youth Centre in Alexandria in the next coming months, the first of its kind in this area. Our goal is to reduce the burden on families and provide our youth with the necessary tools to succeed academically and build their capacity with gaining the necessary life skills and self worth needed to flourish into successful confident young adults through Sports and Education.

Your generosity will not only help our youth succeed in their lives but will also prepare us for the opening of our historic Aboriginal Youth Centre. Our organisation is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn, grow and thrive. By contributing to our donation request you can help us create a welcoming and nurturing space for the youth of our community.

Our new premises with the help from every donation will plan to include a new Indoor Basketball Court, Gym Area - With Transitional Functional Workout Zones developed for appropriate age ranges also Table Tennis and Hand Ball Competition Areas. These facilities will be where our "Mob Fitness Program" will run from, this will include Boxing, HIIT and Step Workout classes to youth in the community.

RYC also supports the upkeep of the local youth participating in their affiliated local sporting competitions through mentoring, encouragement, transport services and management of teams. This includes Rugby League and Basketball competitions in the South Sydney Area.
