About the project

The Queensland Schools Championships Regatta comes at the end of the regional Schools Championships Series, held in Central, South, and North Queensland from June through to August. School athletes across the state work for months to compete in this regatta. It allows them to see all of their hard work pay off, and also provides a scope to athletes and coaches around their potential ability to compete at a national level.

Furthermore, the excitement and atmosphere of the regatta makes it a favourite among parents, family, and rowing fans alike. Schools Championships marks an end in a long season of commitment and support from family members of our young rowers, and RQ aims to provide the best spectator experience possible for those in attendance and watching from home.

While entry fees are charged for this event, the scale of what needs to be provided goes far beyond athlete contributions. In order to keep the cost of attendance as low as possible, this project aims to raise funds from both in and out of the community to ensure that the regatta remains one of the best events to attend in the country.

The funds raised through this project will help to provide livestreaming of the competition, so that those unable to attend are still able to follow the event from home. It will also provide communal shade, fencing, and seating on site so that both competitors and spectators are able to enjoy watching the racing in comfort.

If enough money is raised, there will also be a large screen placed in the main spectator area of the event so that attendees are able to see each race in full!

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and would be greatly appreciated so please give generously today!
