About the project

To successfully operate all of its events, regattas, time trials and training sessions, Rowing Queensland relies heavily on an amazing group of volunteers. This group is made up of approximately 130 boat race officials as well as boat drivers, coaches and other volunteers that give up their time, some weekly, to make sure the sport of rowing can still operate statewide.

As a not for profit, community sports organisation, Rowing Queensland depends on generous donations, funding and grants from external donors and sources as well as the limited money collected from seat fees to operate.

This fundraising effort is to help Rowing Queensland provide for its volunteer work force. This includes the following:

  • Providing coach and umpire professional development through things like first aid courses, recurrency training, seminars & mentorship
  • Uniforms to make sure that we have a visible uniformed presence at all regattas and to ensure our boat race officials stand out from the crowd as the point of contact for all regatta enquiries, questions and emergencies
  • As the majority of our regattas are held on courses that involve travel time for our volunteers, Rowing Queensland tries to provide some reimbursement for our volunteers time and expenses as a thank you for giving up what is usually their weekends
  • Having current, operational equipment is important for our volunteers to be able to do their jobs properly, efficiently and effectively

With your tax deductible donations to this campaign, Rowing Queensland will be able to continue to assist its amazing volunteers do their jobs and thank them for the immense amount of work they contribute each and every year.
