Ruby is currently 12 years old and has been playing soccer since she could kick a soccer ball. She has had the honor of being selected in the Mid Coast Football Academy for the last few years and plays local competition with her club Port United. Her team were Premiers for the 2023 season with Ruby scoring 28 goals. She will be 13 when she attends the tournament.

She has also made her primary school soccer team as well as their Futsal team, they won the local and regional tournaments. This allowed them to play at Nationals in Brisbane, where she was selected to represent Australia. The team will be going to China in July 2024.

Ruby is currently training with The Newcastle Premier League as she decided, as she is commencing high school in 2024 to not trial but do it the year after. However, they have offered her a position on the training squad where she trains two nights a week for an hour and a half each night. On top of this, she also trains with her team weekly and hits the gym for strength training sessions.

Ruby has also attended the Kanga Cup in Canberra and gained an immense amount of knowledge and skills from that tournament.

We have also incorporated a strength and endurance coach to assist with her conditioning and strength training to further assist her stamina. She also attends the Port Macquarie Speed and Agility Clinics run by Fit for Sport when they attend Port Macquarie.

Ruby is football/soccer/futsal obsessed and has great plans to become a Matilda. So much so that Ruby and her Father have attended many of the World Cup games and travel to the Central Coast and Newcastle to watch the games.

This fundraising will allow her to concentrate on training to further her skill set as she is currently spending a lot of time collecting cans and bottles from the community to assist with her fund raising effort to get her to China. We wanted her to understand the value of earning your place and she has shown us that through her fundraising efforts. She understands that you are not given everything you want and that it has to be earnt.
