Help support Ruby's Gymnastics Journey
Your donation is supporting Ruby Kelly
Ruby, a 14 year old gymnast, who dedicates 25+ hours per week to her rigorous training regime, all year round, including early mornings and late nights. This level of commitment is a testament to her determination to excel in her sport. Residing in a regional area, three hours away from the nearest capital city, Ruby regularly travels to Melbourne for training and competitions, Queensland for national competitions and Canberra to train at the Australian Institute of Sport at various times throughout the year. Gymnastics is a self-funded sport and the financial demands of travel, accommodation, training, uniforms, and competition expenses pose a substantial hurdle for Ruby achieving her goal to represent Australia.
In 2023, Ruby showcased her prowess as a member of the Future International Victorian State Team at the Australian Gymnastics Championships on the Gold Coast, contributing to securing a gold medal for the team. Individually, she was named the Australian Floor Champion and achieved an impressive 2nd place on Bars. Later in the same year, Ruby was the very first gymnast from her local club to compete in the Junior International level at the National Clubs Carnival on the Gold Coast. Once again, she claimed the title of Floor Champion, highlighting her consistent excellence.
Following on from the Australian Championships, Ruby was selected for her first Australian team to compete in the EnBW DTB Pokal Challenge Cup in Germany, scheduled for March 2024. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond her control, the team was unable to make the trip. Although this setback was disappointing, it only intensified her determination to achieve her dream of representing Australia.
In May 2024, she was selected on the Junior International Victorian State Team and travelled to the Gold Coast for The Australian Gymnastics Championships. Again, contributing to securing another gold medal for the team. Individually she placed 4th on bars, 5th on vault and 8th all around.
Ruby's journey in gymnastics began at the age of 6, and over the years, she has not only honed her skills but also developed into an inspirational figure for numerous young gymnasts at her local club. Her drive, commitment, and true passion for gymnastics set her apart, making her a role model for all aspiring athletes.
Supporting Ruby financially will help turn Ruby’s dreams of representing Australia into reality. You will be contributing to the growth and development of a dedicated athlete who inspires young talents and fosters a culture of excellence within the sport.
Ruby's journey is a testament to what can be achieved with hard work, dedication, and the support of a community that believes in the potential of its athletes.
Please consider making a financial contribution to support Ruby's gymnastics journey. Thank you for investing in the future of this talented athlete and the sport she represents with such passion and dedication. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
