Ryde Dragon Boat Club (Ryde DBC) is heading to Perth to compete at AusChamps and we need your help to get our members there.

AusChamps is Australia's premier Dragon Boating event in which clubs from all states compete against one another for the title of National Champion. In April 2024, AusChamps will be held at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre in Perth WA. The last time Perth hosted AusChamps was back in 2015 and in 2024 Ryde DBC will mark its first time competing at this world class venue.

Ryde DBC goal for this project is raise funds to subsides the costs towards our members from Race Fees, Group Road Transportation (mini van hire) and Group Accommodation. As a club, we will be aiming to send upwards of 50 paddlers to compete across the 5 days of dragon boat racing.

Race Fees will cost roughly $15,000+ dollars to enter standard boats (20 paddlers) across three categories of Mixed, Women's and Opens for both the Senior (ages 40+) days and Premier (all ages) / Juniors (10-17 years) days.

Group Road Transportation (mini van hire + insurance) will cost roughly $10,000+ to ensure we're able to shuttle paddlers to and from the regatta centre, which is roughly a 45 minute drive from Perth CBD.

Group Accommodation for 50 paddlers will cost roughly $30,000+ for the six nights required to compete at this regatta.

Individual costs to paddlers could run into the thousands of dollars just to get to Perth and enter the regatta. This is why Ryde DBC are aiming to subsidise the costs to all paddlers who wish to attend.
