My name is Ryder Taylor and I am 14 years old and a student at St Augustine’s College, Sydney.
After a couple of years in the school rowing program coxing for both school and UTS Rowing Club, I am pleased to say that all the early mornings and dedication has paid off and I have been selected to represent Australia at the Junior World Championships in Paris in August 2023.
I was fortunate enough to complete at the 2022 Under 19 World Championships for Australia and we became World Championships winning gold. I hope to be able to repeat this in 2023.
It is even more special because our entire U19 Coxed Four team from St Augustine’s was selected together. Being only 14 years old I am very grateful for the opportunity and the support my crew, coach and rowing team have given me.
I feel very privileged to be representing my country with my crew Doogal, Joe, Tane and Oscar and with my coach Judith Ungemach. We are all very excited to be off to Europe to compete for Australia. We depart on 14 July for a training camp in Italy before competing at the World Junior Rowing Championships in Paris in early August.
We are fortunate and grateful for the opportunity provided through the school rowing program and our club UTS and in particular, the expert guidance from our coach, Judith Ungemach. We would also like to thank everyone that has supported us on this journey.
Any assistance that you can provide towards the cost of my seat fee would be greatly appreciated, and help me experience this wonderful opportunity that will help my coxing career and promise to try my best for my crew, coach and Australia.
Thank you
Ryder
