The Frontline Safari is an annual ADF veteran-run adventure motorcycle tour through the heart of central Australia. This unique event is more than just an adventure—it’s a mission to support the Saltwater Veterans Sailing Project (SVSP). All funds raised by participants are directly donated to SVSP, ensuring full transparency and accountability. Frontline Safari does not collect or manage funds on behalf of SVSP, and all event profits go straight to supporting our sailing initiatives.
SVSP is driven by a dedicated team of volunteers and is committed to serving our veteran community. It’s a project grounded in camaraderie and a shared vision: to provide veterans, like ourselves, with an opportunity to reconnect and re-engage through the life-changing power of sailing.
Our Mission
SVSP is dedicated to fostering a supportive, inclusive community through monthly sailing activities across the nation. We aim to improve the health and wellness of current and former service personnel and their families, creating a space where social isolation is reduced and veterans can find new purpose through sailing.
Our Key Objectives
- Meaningful Engagement – Veterans supporting veterans and the broader community, with programs like the Making Waves Foundation and training opportunities that may lead to future employment.
- Psychosocial Reintegration – Reducing social isolation, particularly for those dealing with mental health and physical injuries. We do this by offering inclusive sailing programs and building a strong volunteer base of qualified, competent individuals.
Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers and participants, in 2024, we proudly facilitated 122 activities across eight locations around Australia, with 944 participants joining us. These included major cities like Sydney, Adelaide, Newcastle, Nowra, Mooloolaba, Darwin, Geelong, and more. We also continued our international presence, competing at regattas in New Zealand, the USA, and Canada.
This growth demonstrates the increasing reach and impact of the Saltwater Veterans Sailing Project, and we're excited to continue expanding in 2025!
Why It Matters
By empowering veterans to be part of the crew, we’re creating a sustainable, independent veteran community. Our programs provide opportunities for veterans to give back and make meaningful connections with their peers and the wider community.
