About the project

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Larcombe and I'm a right leg below knee amputee, infectious disease research scientist, and dedicated Paraclimbing athlete.

Since first competing in 2020 and training as hard as possible all through Melbourne's lockdowns and beyond, I finally have a chance to put my hard work to the test, earning a place on the Australian Paraclimbing Team and qualifying to compete at the IFSC Paraclimbing World Cups in 2022.

I currently hold the the Victorian Number 1 rank and the VIC and NSW/ACT State Lead Climbing Titles for Paraclimbing (Female), and was the top performing athlete at the recent 2022 Australian National Paraclimbing Team Selection Event. I am also a Board Member of Adaptive Climbing Victoria, and am passionate about helping to make climbing accessible to people of all abilities.

Being a disabled athlete in an emerging sport, there is currently no funding and little support to compete at any level, especially internationally. Your donation will help level the playing field for athletes like me, and allow me to represent the adaptive climbing community on the world stage and help to build the sport of Paraclimbing in Australia.

Specifically - your donations will go towards training, travel, and accommodation costs for me to attend:

  • IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup - Salt Lake City, USA (May)
  • IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup - Innsbruck, Austria (June)
  • Paraclimbing Master - Imst, Austria (July)
  • IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup - Villars, Switzerland (July)

All donations of $2 or more to this campaign are tax deductible - any amount helps!
