The 2023 World Championship for Cross Country Skiing will take place in February and March 2023 in Planica in Slovenia. Australia hopes to send a team of eight athletes to Planica, together with five support staff.

Accommodation alone for the championship will cost over $2,000 per athlete, not to mention airfares land transport, pre-competition training camp and miscellaneous expenses. Total expenses per athlete will come to around $4,000-$5,000, depending on where they are travelling from and whether they are staying for the entire championship. Snow Australia will endeavour to cover coaching and waxing support from other funding sources, however the majority of funds to cover athlete expenses will come from this external fundraising activities.

If we can raise $8,000 via this project, that will come close to covering 50% of the accommodation expenses for each athlete.
