The Australian U19 men’s team, Aussie Junior Steelers, have a proud and rich history, which began in 1993 when they first competed at the ISF Junior Men's World Championship. Since then, the Junior Steelers have become arguably the most successful team in the junior men's competition, winning four consecutive gold medals between 1997 and 2008.
The Aussie Junior Steelers were previously known as the Aussie Colts, the name change helping to align the national team's pathway between the junior men's program and the open men's program (Aussie Steelers). The program has produced world-class players who have progressed to the Aussie Steelers team, a number of whom were influential in the 2009 ISF Men's World Championship win.
The Aussie Junior Steelers will compete at the 2018 WBSC Junior Men's World Softball Championship, which will be held in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Canada, from 7-15 July.
