Since the club’s formation in 1989, Southern Districts Rugby has been a vital part of the community for many young men, women, and junior players. With great memories and friendships forged at our grounds in Sylvania Waters, we are dedicated to producing quality grassroots rugby within the best environment, to enable our members and players to the best they can be.
We support our partners, embrace the community and stand behind our values as we continue growing year on year. We aim to help connect our sponsors with decision-makers across industries, as well as providing an opportunity to connect with a highly engaging community of rugby supporters across Southern Sydney, New South Wales and Australia.
Southern Districts has produced 14 Wallabies including Kane Douglas, Nic Cummins, Rob Horne and Mat Rodgers and countless representatives for state, interstate, Australian schools, Australian U20’s, Australian 7s and Super Rugby.
In 2020 we have decided to launch the Southern Districts Rebels Foundation. This initiative enables our Souths family to make tax-deductible donations to the club, helping us to unite and inspire our community.
What is the Rebels Foundation?
The Rebels Foundation has launched in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation. All tax-deductible donations and gifts will directly and significantly contribute to the club’s ongoing success.
In 2020, the clubs' board has made strides towards securing the longevity of SDRC by developing the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan. This comprehensive plan outlines the objectives and goals across all aspects of the rugby club, including governance, rugby operations, finance, philanthropy and community engagement. If you would like a copy of the Strategic Plan, please don’t hesitate to contact to email@example.com
The Rebels Foundation will be used alongside SDRC’s strategic plan to assist in the effective delivery of crucial projects as we continue building our very bright club future.
As a club, we have placed ourselves in a position to survive the recent COVID-19 pandemic. But we don’t want to survive; we want to thrive. Sydney Club Rugby is rapidly evolving into a more professional form of the game, and our goal is to build a community footprint that will be the envy of other Sydney regions.
We have an incredible group of people involved at the club dedicated to seeing SDRC overcome COVID-19 and excel year on year. But we need your help to make our plans a reality.
Funds raised during this time will go directly to club operations. It will ensure the continued growth of the club once current restrictions have lifted. Without initiatives like the Foundation, there is no guarantee that South Districts Rugby will be able to maintain competitiveness into the future, in this new generation of club rugby. Still, your generous assistance will enable us to try.
