About the project

Sport plays a fundamental role in the College in producing balanced and well-rounded young men who appreciate hard work and training, commitment to a team, sportsmanship and dedication to fair play.

In this endeavour the College is proud to have produced five Olympians (Mark and Brad Dalton, Chris Cairns, Colin Hamilton and Lucas Neill) as well as numerous sporting professionals and state and national selected players in rugby union, rugby league, basketball, athletics, cricket, AFL, water polo and soccer. Names such as Phil Daley, Jason King, Michael Blake, Glenn Ryan, Greg Highfield, Glen Dunsmore and Ashley Jones all represented St Augustine’s College in their respective sports.

At St Augustine’s College our students participate in local club and inter-school competitions. They have the opportunity to compete in the Broken Bay Carnivals and the Polding representative fixtures, prior to NSW representation. Where St Augustine’s offers a sport, all students must give priority to playing for the College over their Club team.

A highlight of the sporting calendar at St Augustine’s College is our annual fixture of rugby, basketball and soccer against Villanova College, our brother school in Brisbane, Queensland.
