St Aidan's Rowers (or STARS) is the St Aidan's school rowing team comprised of up to 200 girls from Year 6 through to Year 12. Rowing is of the more unique opportunities afforded to students attending St Aidan's. Rowing is a team sport that provides a development opportunity for St Aidan's girls, teaching them discipline, courage, dedication and self-sacrifice.
STARS is a foundation rowing team of Brisbane school girls rowing with over 25 years participation. The key themes underpinning STARS include:
* participation - "everyone gets a go"
* fun/collegiality
* results/performance
* well-being
* leadership
STARS is a significant operation with large funding needs for both operating activities and capital sustain activities. The purpose of this project is a general fund to cater for all activities of STARS; specific campaigns will be run for individual activities/goals. Through our fundraising partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, donations are tax deductible and any proceeds from this general fund will be applied to any specific campaigns in progress or towards supporting the general activities of the extensive STARS program.
