Being from Canada, I started playing ice hockey when I was 7 years old...late I know....and I have never looked back. I played competitively in Canada in Ontario's Provincial Women's Hockey League before finishing up university and packing my bags to study in Australia. I thought when moving to Australia that it was something that I was going to have to give up, however was able to quickly find my place here and start playing in the Australian Women's Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) in my first year. 5 years later, I had my citizenship and was ready to don the Green and Gold. I have played on the national team for 5 years, travelling to over 10 countries with the team and every time is just as special as the last. This year will be my 6th. Paying at the National and International levels comes with many fees. Aside from the ~$10,000 in fees for those 2 leagues alone, there are also fees associated with the local clubs I play on to keep in form for the National and International level, the gym memberships, and eating healthy (although the cost of chocolate has gone up too...). All in all, I spend close to $15,000 every year to prepare for our senior women's tournament which lasts one week (that's $3000 per game in preparation). While I work full time and save my money to be able to do this, the external support has drastically helped me achieve this so far. This year the aim is to go to world's, win, and move up to division IIA.

I was lucky enough to have the first half of my AWIHL season sponsored by Prowler Hockey Australia (https://www.prowlerhockey.com.au/) allowing me to start off on the right foot. Now I am working on the back end of the AWIHL season and my prep for Worlds.
