Suburban Lions Hockey Club Incorporated

Charles Harper Club

About

While the Suburban Lions Hockey Club name is new to WA, it comes with an enviable history of tradition, expertise and success being the amalgamation of two very successful clubs. Suburban Nedlands has a long history, being the longest continually operating hockey club in WA, after forming in 1922, while Riverside Lions had their origins in 1954. The merge into a single club in 2011 provided an exciting future with the potential for better facilities, a greater coaching culture and improved opportunities for all players.

There is plenty to offer players who want to play top grade hockey in any of our Mens' or Ladies' turf teams. We also field teams in a number of senior and masters grass, social and mid-week leagues. We also run our own Minkey (J1/2) and Cubs (J3/4) programs and field around 25 junior teams.

We offer:
opportunities to play in men's and women's top grades
turf and grass teams to cater for all abilities
men's and women's Masters
a professional approach to coaching and training for all grades
specialised junior goalie coaching
own turf ground and our own clubrooms
tradition built up over 90 years
a friendly atmosphere
social activities

New players are welcome and invited to attend the training and have a look at the club.

The Charles Haper Club is set up to support the club with its first project to update the Max Brown Pavilion club rooms.
