Founded in 1938, Sunshine Baseball Club is the oldest sporting club in the City of Brimbank. Over its journey, the purpose of the club is to promote Baseball within the local community and to provide an environment where players, volunteers and supporters have every opportunity to participate at a local level. This includes junior, women's and men's teams and the volunteers required to support this continued development. Indeed, 

The Club has been built on its volunteers over 83 years in the City of Brimbank.

As a result of this strong volunteer culture The Club has recognised the diverse range of skills that it draws upon to be self sufficient when it comes to coaching the game, scoring and ground set up, facility maintenance and development. This is done in close cooperation with the City of Brimbank, with maintenance and various rooms and grounds improvements projects, so as to ensure self sufficiency within the City of Brimbank. 

For this new intended project of the indoor training facility, the Club will organise volunteer labour to help assist with the building. The current hitting cage area, is past its use by date and does not meet the current demands of the game on a number of criteria. It is an aged facility that requires significant upkeep for player usability and safety.

The goal of this project is to ensure Sunshine Baseball Club is seen and demonstrated as a leading community organisation when it comes to facilities to support community involvement, player participation and growth, in conjunction with a high desire to build baseball as a sport for the local community members.

This upgrade will not only help our players across all grades from tee ball, to senior baseball, it will also help to serve visiting teams to our club the sport and we can be seen to be a leader in Victorian Baseball across the summer and winter months.

This facility, by its very nature, will make our club a more desirable place to join, develop, promote, and play baseball all year round for our junior and senior teams in the Victorian Baseball competition.
