Surfers Paradise Cricket Club has kick-started plans to secure the club's facilities for the next 20 years. Big ticket items include: refurbishing and upgrading our existing nets facility, remodelling and refreshing the existing club house, coach and player development, and finally preparing youth to inherit the club administration roles.
143 junior and senior players are registered for the 2021/22 season, all using a 3-net facility for training. We've proposed to council to double the existing facility, which will significantly help with training and reduce the pressure on volunteer coaching hours.
To obtain approval to refurbish and extend existing training facilities, Surfers Paradise Cricket Club must present local council with a set of engineered drawings, and a complete site plan (including an expanded lighting design) of the proposed cricket nets facility. The purpose of this fundraiser, is to raise enough money to cover the cost of the required technical drawings. We intend to engage Brisbane-based company, Gabba Sporting Products, (endorsed by Cricket Australia) to conduct a complete site plan and produce the required technical drawings.
All donations made through the Australian Sports Foundation are tax deductible and any excess funds raised will be used towards upgrading facilities, or purchasing training equipment.
