Hi my name is Tegan and I am incredibly honoured to have been selected to play for Australia and represent the green and gold at two upcoming World Championships for two different sports, both within a month of each other in late 2024.

Most people who know me, know I have been selected to represent Australia at the Women's Box Lacrosse World Championships in Utica, New York in September 2024.

For me personally, being selected in the first ever Australian women’s box lacrosse team is a huge honour, allowing me to be one of the first females to represent Australia in all three disciplines (field, the Olympic sixes and box lacrosse). This also gives me the opportunity to help break down barriers for women in our sport and take a step towards equality between the men and women’s representation at the world championship level.

My other sporting passion over the years has been Gridiron and earlier this year I was lucky enough to play in the first Western Australian Women's Flag Football team. Fast forward a couple of months and i am incredibly excited to have been selected to represent Australia at the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championship held in Lahti Finland in August.

Flag football is a growing sport in Australia and has recently been announced as an Olympic sport for Los Angeles in 2028. It's the non-contact version of Gridiron/NFL and is a super-fast and agile sport. I fell in love with it straight away.

Although i am both honoured and excited for these two incredible opportunities

to represent my country, both sports are fully self-funded. This means purchasing and funding of own equipment, training, travel, accommodation, flights, physio, competition costs, uniforms, training camps etc. Where one campaign can cost a pretty penny so to speak, now being a part of two is having a significant impact.
