Tehani’s international Showjumping debut in Puebla Mexico
Your donation is supporting Tehani Badke
My name is Tehani Badke, and I’m a 15 year old Australian equestrian athlete with dreams of representing my country at the Olympics.
I am writing to seek your support as I embark on an exciting opportunity to compete internationally.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been selected to travel internationally in June 2025 to Mexico to represent Australia at the 2025 Global Amateur Tour. This is a huge opportunity for me!
This prestigious event will allow me to train and compete on world-class show jumping horses. Upon arriving in Mexico I will spend four days training and getting familiar with the horses before competing over three days in the CSI 2* Puebla International 2025 Showjumping World Cup which involves show jumping rounds that start at 1.10m and 1.20 wide and rise up to 1.25m and 1.35 wide as the event progresses.
Competing at this level is a significant step toward achieving my long-term goal of representing Australia at the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and beyond.
Representing Australia and as an equestrian athlete has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, I am very proud as a young equestrian to have this opportunity to compete internationally in Showjumping and hopefully one day to represent at the Olympics and world equestrian games.
This selection is the culmination of sustained dedication and commitment and is not the result of a singular effort but rather an accumulation of consistent high-level performances over the past 18 months competing across NSW, QLD and last year VIC.
I’ve been riding horses since before I could walk, driven by my deep love for these incredible animals and the sport. I started competing at age five in pony club and local agricultural shows, and by nine, I discovered my passion for showjumping and eventing.
Over the past four years, I’ve worked incredibly hard to develop my craft as an equestrian and build a strong reputation in the equestrian community. I’m proud to be a 1* Eventer and a 1.25m show jumper.
Throughout my journey, I’ve achieved a lot of personal goals, alongside heartbreak and setbacks, which have helped me build strength and resilience and bring me closer to my ultimate dream of competing at the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
Beyond my competitive ambitions, I’m deeply involved in my local community. I’m a student at Bishop Druitt College and proud to hold an Indigenous sporting scholarship and be part of the incredible High performance program delivered through the school. I’m also active in all school sports and activities, such as cross country and athletics carnivals. I love being involved, whether it’s talking at school assemblies, being a buddy for exchange students, or participating in the Indigenous Goorie Group and the BDC Equestrian team.
My passion for horses and the sport extends beyond my own goals. I love giving back to the equestrian community in every way I can. I give lessons to young, aspiring riders, showing them the ropes of our challenging but amazing sport. I also support my local pony club, Coffs Harbour Pony Club, where I’ve been a member since I was five. CHPC is like my second family, and I love helping out at events, fundraisers, organising trade stalls, finding sponsors, and mentoring younger riders.
With the rising costs of living and the expenses of my sport, I need your help to make my dreams a reality. Without financial support, I won’t be able to compete and represent Australia overseas. This is where you come in!
I’m reaching out to ask if you would consider supporting me for this incredible journey.
Your support would go towards travel expenses, insurance costs, competition fees, equipment, and everything I need to represent Australia at my best on a global stage,
I have a goal to raise $30,000 by March 2025, to ensure my spot on this exciting journey.
Your support would not only help me achieve my immediate goals in Mexico but also support my long term dream of competing at the Olympics.
By investing in my journey, you’re investing in the future of Australian equestrian sports and helping a young athlete take crucial steps toward success.
Thank you so much for considering my request and supporting me, making this dream a reality!
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." — Eleanor Roosevelt
Sincerely Grateful Tehani Badke.
