My name is Tommy Treharne, I’m 19 years old and live in Sydney, Ive been playing Gridiron for Sydney University for the past year all thanks to my good friend who's also been selected. My sporting experience comes from Rugby Union, I've been playing for Petersham for the past 13 years and thanks to all that experience i managed to translate that skill to Gridiron and I've been loving it ever since. Having the opportunity to play for my country in the international setting has been a dream come true.

In my first year of the game I started training in a safety position, this quickly changed as the QB we had at the time changed teams, my coach thought I had what it took to learn the position, plays and reads I had to so I then became the QB for Sydney Uni. Whilst playing QB I managed to break all but 1 University records for my position, also leading in rushing and passing yards in our age group.

Now having the chance to play for Australia back in my safety position I couldn’t be more grateful. Especially to those who believed in me and tolerated me while I was learning. I am infinitely grateful to all that have helped me through my learning curve.
