Hi, my name is Tianah Anspach and I am 16 years old.

I have been playing inline hockey since 2017 when I was 11 years old. Ever since I could remember I loved sports. I tried every sport I had access to. I played soccer, netball, and swimming, and also competed in some mini ironmans/triathlons when I was younger. But none seemed to stick... A friend from school invited me skating on a Friday night and I thought sure! I would love to go skating! So off I went. At first, I wasn't the greatest at it. Me being the persistent kid I am though, I went home and begged my dad for a pair of rollerblades. It took some convincing but off we went to Rebel Sports and got some very stylish, purple and pink, adjustable skates. From that day onwards I would skate around the culdesac with my neighbors for hours!

A few weeks later I met two kids who had recently moved into a home on our street that had been up for sale for a few weeks. We observed them as you do, to see if we can get more people to join our neighborhood clan and what do you know... One day I noticed them out the front with some really sick-looking roller blades and some hockey sticks and a green puck...

A few weeks go by and there we were with our skates on holding a left-handed stick hitting this green puck to each other until it starts going dark and the street lights turn on.

That's where it all began. I finally found the sport that had stuck.

Fast forward a few years and I'm representing South Australia at the 2019 Nationals. During the 2019 Nationals, I was selected for the Oceana Women's Development team to represent Australia at the Oceana competition in 2020. Due to COVID-19, I was, unfortunately, unable to pursue this achievement of mine and haven't been able to since due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Since this, I have played multiple tournaments including traveling to Bendigo, and Moe, in Victoria in a variety of divisions.

In March 2023 I went over to Bendigo, Victoria, with a team, called the JAGS. This is an all-girls team that performed in a WOMEN's division against various women's teams from states over Australia.

South Australia went over to this tournament and entered 3 women's teams in A WOMENS DIVISION! To think that South Australia alone has enough females to enter 3 whole teams to play in a women's tournament is incredible. This is the first time there have been enough entries to even make a division for women. The 3 South Australian women’s teams are JAGS light as well as a JAGS dark team! As well as a North Vikings team. My team JAGS light went undefeated the whole tournament with a close call in a game against JAGS dark winning by only 2 goals! In the grand finale, JAGS light vs JAGS dark, and by a total of 2 goals, we continue the streak.

To think we even had the opportunity to play in a women’s division, let alone put in 3 whole teams from South Australia and pull out the win was an incredible experience.

Prior to this tournament, an opportunity to get selected for an Aussie Roo’s team to play at one of the world's largest Inline Hockey tournaments State Wars 19 - the United States Roller Hockey Championships. The State Wars national championships see over 350 teams with USA state representative teams along with over 12 countries submitting national representative teams. I put my name in the draw not thinking I'd have the chance... Little did I know my name would get called out at the tournament as one of the couple names that were mentioned as a teaser for the under-19's, women's Major division! Not long after I received two emails congratulating me on my position in the Under 19's Women's Division AND the Women's Open division Aussie Roos Australian Inline Hockey teams for 2023.

The maximum cost for this tournament will add up to $8000 and I would love it if you can support me to fundraise enough money for me to attend one of the world's largest Inline Hockey Tournaments, representing our country in not 1 but 2 women's teams!
