Toby is a talented and dedicated 11 year old country boy, who has incredible skill and passion for soccer and futsal.

His journey began when he was 5 years old, and all he wanted to do was follow in his big brother’s footsteps and join a soccer team. Even at this early age, there was a spark that shone brightly and a lethal left foot that had power and direction. His love for the game has turned into an obsession, with trainings on nearly every day and then adding practice every afternoon in the backyard, using the sugarcane fields as his field boundaries and wheelie bins as his goal posts.

When he was 8 years old, he found out that his big brother was playing futsal every Thursday night. He begged to go watch a game, and let’s say the rest is history. First season of futsal he was selected to represent Mackay & Whitsunday Region in the U9 team that attended numerous tournaments within Queensland. Fast forward three more years and Toby has continued to be selected in this representative team, playing for the town he loves and with team mates that he adores.

At the 2024 National School Futsal Championships, Toby’s determination, agility and teamwork caught the eye of selectors and earnt him a spot on the U11 Australian Futsal Team to compete in China in July 2025. His selection is a testament to his commitment and talent. This tour will be filled with growth, learning and unforgettable experiences, whilst representing his country on an international stage.

This amazing opportunity comes with its challenges. Living in a rural community already disadvantages Toby against the players from big cities, but one thing I do know, the country community always look after their own and in order to make this dream a reality, we need your support. We are seeking donations to help cover travel expenses, accommodation, uniforms, training expenses and other travel requirements.
