Townsville Basketball and its finances have taken a hit over the past few years. The association currently holds an accumulated debt in excess of $500,000 which is preventing it from completing major facility improvements for our members.

Our only current avenue for improvements is through fully funded government funding. Until we are in a stronger financial position we are unable to borrow at the record low current interest rates.

Whilst we will continue to work on operational efficiencies and tightening our belts where possible it has become evident that unless we receive funds through a capital injection we have no scope for change.

Townsville Basketball has been pushed to the limits by the enforced breaks from the 2019 Monsoon Event and the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic and does not have the reserves to survive another event outside of its control.
