Australia has a long and distinguished tradition in the sport of Underwater Hockey. The first Australian Underwater Hockey Championships were held in Margaret River, Western Australia in 1975 and Australia participated in the first Underwater Hockey World Championships held in Vancouver, Canada in 1980.
Australian teams enjoyed success from the outset and have maintained an unsurpassed level of excellence on the international stage in the years since. The Australian Men have won 10 of the 16 World Championships attended and the Australian Women have won 9 of 16.
In addition to its grassroots development and governance programs, Underwater Hockey Australia aims to provide the support necessary for Australian teams to excel. Donate today and help our teams succeed!
