Match officials, referees, assistant referees and referee coaches are fundamental to the game of Rugby. Those who play Rugby need match officials so that they can enjoy the game in a safe and competitive environment. It is only through the development of match officials can the Victorian Rugby Referees Association provide match officials at the level required for the safe enjoyment of Rugby. This fundraising opportunity will provide for the development of match officials through their participation in interstate exchanges, and State and National regattas for both males and females and boys and girls. Participating in tournament rugby and refereeing outside of familiar environments is a valuable way to gain skills and experience for match officials to improve quicker.
