The school cricket nets need love and attention - they are very popular with our children who use them every day during school hours, after school and on weekends. The cricket nets date back to the 1960's and it shows. There are holes throughout the fence wiring, the batting pitches are uneven, and the gravel areas are a tripping hazard. An upgrade of this facility is now due to make the area safer and more enjoyable for our children.

The School Association is raising funds for brand-new two-lane cricket nets. The new nets will have new concrete lane bases, framed wire netting and artificial turf covering the full area.

“Growing up, some of my best memories are of playing cricket with my mates at primary school. I am very excited by this project - the new facilities will be a terrific asset for our school and will encourage our kids to stay active now and in the future."

Alex Doolan, Waimea parent and former Australian Cricketer

We have secured funding through our normal fundraising activities, a Cricket Tasmania grant and a contribution from the school itself. We are now just $15,000 away from making this dream a reality, with upgrades scheduled to start in October in time for the cricket season. We now need your help!
