Visit websiteThe West Coast Wolverines would like to continue to deliver American Football in the Northern Suburbs of Perth for many years to come. But more than that we would like to be able to increase our reach and offer great opportunity to both current players looking to develop and to expand our offering to more members of the community to be involved in our great sport, especially younger children. The club focussed in 2017 on expanding and developing the Women's squad, which was a great success. As a result of this 6 of our players are currently working towards competing in the National competition representing WA
Alongside this the men's squad continued to develop and strive to continue improvement. This shows through with 5 of the men’s team competing at state level for WA this year in the men's national competition.
And our junior division continues to develop stars of the future, with the stand out this year being Alex Endall who was selected represent Australia at the Junior World Championships in Mexico this July.
But to continue we need your assistance. We are working on a project to refurbish and replace our current stock of equipment (which is reaching the end of it's usability), develop our coaches and attract new experienced coaches to the club, purchase additional training aids (tackle dummies, focus shields, running chutes, for example) to allow us to further develop players skills and increase their opportunities to compete at the highest levels.
In 2018 we would like to expand out current development into the younger age groups by offering non contact (flag) football to 9-13 year olds (mixed gender) further expanding the opportunities for kids to become involved.
With American Football being a truly inclusive sport with a position for everyone regardless of size, strength or athleticism we feel we are in a unique position to offer people who would not normally be involved in sport to become more active and socially included through sport.
The future fund would be used to develop projects as and when they are developed and will allow the club to continue to plan and grow over the coming 5 years.
