The project will increase usage of the ground by approximately 2.5 times during the season and enable matches to be held in wet weather when turf grounds are closed. Norman Griffiths Oval is one of just 2 full sized football pitches that West Pymble Football Club has access to using as a home ground during the winter competition season. Our club has over 860 registered players and current lacks the number of pitches required to adequately meet the training and competition match demands of these members. The artificial pitch proposal will greatly increase the capacity of our club to host training and competition matches for our members. Additionally Kuring-gai Council provides our club with very limited access to Norman Griffiths Oval for summer football and during the pre-season as typically they repair and recover the ground during this period. An artificial pitch would allow the club's members and players from other clubs to enjoy usage of the ground during periods outside of the winter football competition season.
