WPSC Sporting Grounds

We are seeking funding for an upgrade to Sporting Grounds at Western Port Secondary College, specifically our Cricket Ground and our Soccer Pitch.

The need has become critical for additional funding and resourcing for the improvement of our grounds, as we seek to expand our opportunities to engage in sport for our students and to expand our presence within the local community. We are seeking your financial support to enable us to:

The scope of works includes the following improvements:

·        Cricket Ground Fence – we will install a perimeter fence around our cricket ground to protect it from cars being parked on it by the community and to contain the cricket balls hit for 4!

·        Cricket Pitch – Uncover and refurbish our existing cricket pitch in time for the next season 23/24.

·        Ground Works – Have the ground improved as currently the soil is impacted, with a new top coat of soil, relevelled and then sown with new grass seed.

·        Install Cricket Grandstand & Team Benches – We will be installing new Grandstands for spectators and scorers on the perimeter of the ground with shade to protect. We will also be installing new Team Benches for the games and practices matches.

·        Soccer Pitch - Have the ground improved as currently the soil is impacted, with a new top coat of soil, relevelled and then sown with new grass seed.

·        Install Soccer Grandstand & Team Benches – We will be installing new Grandstands for spectators and scorers on the perimeter of the ground with shade to protect. We will also be installing new Team Benches for the games and practices matches.

·        Plumbing – Ensure that the drainage to both fields and the surrounds is suitable for wet weather.

·        Wheelie Bin Surrounds – we will be adding six new wheelie bin surrounds, three at each ground to cater for rubbish, recyclables and green waste.
