Whitford Hockey Club in Perth, Western Australia aims to be the premier hockey club in Perth’s northern suburbs. With teams in elite-level competitions such as Promotion 1 for men and Premier 1 for women the Club offers the opportunity for even the most accomplished player to improve with the assistance of a professional coaching team and management.
The Club has a comprehensive strategic plan covering coaching, umpiring, volunteer and player development for both senior and junior pathways, facilities development and professional financial and administrative management. It is one of the largest clubs in Western Australia but retains a friendly, healthy community focus.
During 2014 the City of Joondalup gave approval for the development of a $6.5 million dollar turf, grass and clubroom development at Warwick Open Space. Something the Whitford Hockey Club had been working towards for more than eight years. This represents the largest investment in a dedicated hockey facility in WA since the development of the second pitch and stadium at Perth Hockey Stadium in the early 2000s. Construction will take place during the 2015/16 and 2016/17 financial years and the Club is hoping for the facility to be ready for the 2017 winter season. This will be the Club’s new home and highlights the big plans in store for the club.
The Club has committed to contribute $600,000 to this development, and is just over half way there in raising these funds. By donating, you will be supporting the construction of a hockey club facility including clubrooms, function centre, change rooms, grass grounds and artificial turf pitch.
