Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
I'm excited to share that I've been chosen to compete in the first
Women’s Box Lacrosse World Championships in Utica, New York, in September 2024.
This is a historic moment for women in sports, and I need your help to make it
happen.
Attending this event is a fantastic opportunity, as it's occurring
alongside the Men's World Championship, giving us the chance to play at the
same venues. However, this opportunity comes with significant costs, including
travel, accommodation, equipment, and other expenses. This trip is self-funded,
meaning each player must cover their costs, estimated to be around $17,000 or
more.
Box lacrosse, also known as "box," is a fast-paced and
full-contact version of lacrosse played indoors. Originating in Canada, it is
played in an ice hockey rink with the ice removed or covered, creating a
playing area enclosed by walls. One of the game's highlights is that men and
women play with the same equipment and rules, promoting unity between both the
men’s and women’s games.
I've been playing this version of lacrosse for two years and have
participated in two state championships. I'm honored to represent my country as
part of the Australian Lacrosse team, a dream I've had since I started playing
lacrosse at the age of 12.
This tournament is more than just a competition; it’s a chance to
inspire future generations of female athletes, promote gender equality in
sports, and celebrate the skill, dedication, and passion of women in lacrosse.
Personally, I want to show women across the country that it is possible to
achieve their dreams, no matter what.
I'm grateful for any amount you can contribute. Every dollar
brings me one step closer to achieving my dream and making history. Please
share my fundraiser with your network to help spread the word and reach my
goal.
Thank you for your support and for being part of this incredible
journey with me.
