Blind Sports NSW will host a City v Country Blind Sports Championship each year in NSW focusing on specific inclusion sports which are played within each season both in Metro Sydney locations and Regional NSW locations.
Blind Sports NSW will use their Sport4Everyone funds to host 12 initial sports as part of the first City v Council Blind Sports Championships in Newcastle.
Leading into these championships Blind Sports NSW will run multisport grassroots coaching and skill development days in Hunter, Illawarra, Riverina, Northern Rivers, Orange and Central Coast. These development days will focus on trialing the sports of AFL, Futsal, Goalball, Cricket, Hockey, Swish, Lawn Bowls, T Ball, Touch Football, Tennis, Golf, and Basketball. They will work with 145 statewide vision support teachers to engage school students across NSW to register for these skill development days and then the actual City v Country Championships.
